To carry out the target renovation and upgrading of the building, the UP BRS conducted a preliminary site inspection and assessment of the Sandiganbayan Centennial Building. Verification of the dimensions and parameters within the building has been performed to ensure the as-built plans of the building. The space schematic layouts, floor plans and detailed architectural, interior design, and engineering drawings and specifications were prepared, implementing the appropriate standards and codes, design philosophies, and construction methods.
As part of the Sandiganbayan Centennial Building upgrade, the UP Building Research Service provided its expertise in delivering a detailed architectural and engineering design for and managing the proposed renovation projects of the SCB. The Sandiganbayan proceeded with implementing repainting works for common areas, general repairs and renovation of common comfort rooms, upgrading and renovation of the canteen, and upgrading and restoration of the Justices’ Lounge.
In addition, value engineering and analysis were also performed to optimize the project cost both in the design and execution. Post-design assistance and support were also provided by the UP Building Research Service to ensure the quality of the renovation projects of the Sandiganbayan. The unit served as the project management representative during the construction phase, supervising the project implementation satisfactorily.
